In August, Afghan and Palestinian GCE youth met online to discuss the benefits and importance of the Internet in their lives and for their societies. In addition to the wealth of information available online, the students highlighted how the Internet could be used by like-minded people around the world to solve problems. One participant from Afghanistan stressed that it was particularly important for women to have access to the Internet, while another student echoed everyone’s feeling that the Internet brought people together as if they all lived “just in one room.” The forum is available at http://onlinef.blogspot.com/2007_08_01_archive.html.
